Profile
Steve Walbridge is a lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts whose professional artistic career began as a Music Education Major in college, transitioned into a tenure as a radio DJ, writer for multiple music publications, and a nationally recognized Concert Promoter. In 2004, Walbridge received the KBA (Keeping the Blues Alive) award from the Handy Music Awards Association for Best Blues Promoter in the country. And it was in the early 2000's when Walbridge returned to his original artistic love for the physical arts.
Studying Drawing & Design and Art of the Anatomy at Springfield Technical Community College and Westfield State University, as well as oil and watercolor painting at The Hill Art Institute, Walbridge developed an award winning collection of Oils, Watercolors, Pen and Ink drawings, and Mixed Media. Having recently received his Associates Degree in Visual Arts from HCC, Walbridge plans to expand his studio work into more Native American themes.
Walbridge's wide-ranging representation of portraits, abstract drawings, impressionistic watercolors, and realism in landscape oils has culminated in a diverse portfolio resulting in sought after commissions and personal instruction.
Walbridge has also begun teaching group and individual art instruction in drawing and painting and since retiring from a 45 year career in the aerospace sector has now committed himself fully to his artistic career.
Walbridge can be reached at 413-234-0231, gripshows@aol.com, or steverwalbridge@gmail.com for commissioned work, private, or group instruction.
